The month of December has arrived, which means that the holiday season is here in full force. While many stores started stocking Christmas inventory months ago, this is the time when everyone jumps on board and we can expect to be surrounded with Christmas trees, holiday brunches, and Christmas carols.
Whether you are a fan of holiday decorations or not, the month of December is a great time to get out and participate in many of the great community activities happening throughout the Villages of Citrus Hills.
Here are some of the great events you won’t want to miss in the coming weeks:
The holiday season gets off to a festive start with a Christmas Show performance from The Ditchfield Family Singers on Thursday, December 4. This show will be held in the Activity Center Auditorium at 7:00 pm and tickets are available for $20 for members and $25 for guests.
The 2014-2015 Show Series will also be bringing performances from comedian Tom Ryan as well as Bill Haley Jr. and The Comets this month. Tom Ryan will be performing in the Hampton Room on Tuesday, December 9 at 7:00 pm. Bill Haley Jr. and The Comets will be playing all of your favorite early rock and roll hits on Thursday, December 11 in the Activity Center Auditorium.

You also won’t have any trouble finding something to do on New Year’s Eve at the Villages of Citrus Hills. Both the Skyview Restaurant and The Grille will be serving delicious meals on Wednesday, December 31 and there is a New Year’s Eve Celebration being held in the Hampton Room that will have a live music and a screen to watch the Rocking New Year’s Eve Party in Times Square.
Golf & Tennis
On Monday, December 8, Skyview Golf will be hosting their Husband and Wife Championship at 8:30 am. Couples will compete in a combination of better ball and stroke play with the men hitting from the white tees and the women hitting from the red tees.

This tournament is open to anyone and will have ladies’, men’s, mixed, and open divisions with great prizes for each division. In addition to the entry fee, everyone is asked to bring an unwrapped toy that will be donated to Toys for Tots.
Sunday, December 21 will be a big day for the golfers of Citrus Hills as there is a Holiday Golf Feast event at Brentwood at 1:00 pm with fried chicken to follow. There will also be another Duffer’s Mixer on The Meadows course at 3:30 where anyone dressed up for the holidays will have strokes removed from their final score!
Those looking to improve their tennis game, or simply learn the rules, are invited to attend the Free Beginner Tennis Clinic on Tuesday, December 9 at 11:00 am. This event will be held at the Skyview Tennis Center and you don’t even need a racquet to attend. But you must wear tennis footwear.
In addition to the awesome meals that the Skyview Restaurant and The Grille are planning for New Year’s Eve, the next big dinner special of the month will be the Holiday Buffet at the Skyview Restaurant on Tuesday, December 23. The menu will feature carved turkey, sliced ham, and all of your favorite holiday side dishes.
The Skyview Restaurant will also be hosting two Holiday Brunches on December 14 and 28. The brunch on Sunday, December 14 will contain a pork roast carving station, while the brunch on Sunday, December 28 will be serving carved prime rib.
From the entertainment performances to the golf tournaments and dinner specials, everything happening at the Villages of Citrus Hills this month is going to have an element of holiday cheer! Even BellaVita Spa is getting in on the action by offering a Cranberry and Pomegranate Massage and a Holiday Sugar Cookie Pedicure.
