Eggs, omelets, pancakes, breakfast casseroles, and more!

They say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Whether you are looking to improve your golf game, increase your artistic creativity, or just feel better throughout the course of the day, starting your morning off with a good breakfast can go a long way towards helping improve your lifestyle in a number of ways.

If you are looking for a great breakfast right here at the Villages of Citrus Hills, you can start your day at The Grille. You will also want to try the Sunday brunches scheduled at Skyview Restaurant.

But if you’re looking for something a little different, there are many options just outside our community that serve fantastic breakfast menus. In no particular order, here are seven of our favorites (one for each day of the week)!

Grannie’s Restaurant, Crystal River

Grannie’s has built a name for itself as being known for excellent service and consistently good food. This is a casual place, where the portions are large, the prices reasonable, and the service is first class. One of the popular dishes is the Country Fried Steak.  They are open from 5 am to 3 pm daily.  On eof the specialties here is their Country Fried Steak.

Kim’s Cafe II, Homosassa

Kim’s is open daily from 6 am to 3 pm, and serve breakfast until 11:30 am. This is another casual diner that is easy on your wallet without scrimping on the quality or service. If you love omelets and grits, this is the place to go.

Breakfast Station, Beverly Hills

Another option in nearby is Breakfast Station, where the specialties include some of the absolute best breakfast sandwiches. They also have many traditional breakfast options and are open daily from 7 am to 3 pm.

Dillon’s Cinnamon Sticks, Inverness

Located in Inverness, Dillon’s Cinnamon Sticks makes our list due to the proximity to the Villages of Citrus Hills but they also deserve a spot on the list because of their outstanding breakfast food!

In addition to offering a great selection of traditional breakfast favorites, the menu at Dillon’s also contains more sophisticated options like their original skillets and, of course, their amazing cinnamon sticks.

Dillon’s Cinnamon Sticks is open daily from 7 am to 3 pm.

Red’s Restaurant, Hernando

Regulars at Red’s Restaurant on Carl G Rose Highway often tout it as an authentic version of a Cracker Barrel restaurant. This roadhouse style diner is packed with interesting “stuff,” but the real appeal is the delicious breakfast food.

Red’s is open for breakfast and lunch daily from 7 am to 2 pm. We recommend trying their Orange Zest French Toast or the Eggs Benedict.

Boulevard Bistro, Dunnellon

Open from 7 am to 3 pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and 8 am to 2 pm on Sunday, Boulevard Bistro specializes in a variety of delicious pastries and baked goods. They also have a fantastic breakfast menu with the option for building your own omelets.

The Front Porch Restaurant, Dunnellon

Also located in Dunnellon, The Front Porch Restaurant has been serving breakfast, lunch, dinner, and pies since 1986. They are open daily at 7 am and the breakfast menu features all of your favorite traditional home cooked options.

Between The Grille, Sunday brunches at Skyview Restaurant, and all of these outstanding options within a short drive of the Villages of Citrus Hills, you can literally eat breakfast somewhere different every single day of the week.

Have fun exploring these great breakfast spots and getting your days started off on the right foot!
